Classroom

My name is Joy Coon and I am honored to be a part of the Phillis Wheatley School of Early
Childhood Programs’ family as a new ECSES Educator. I am honored to have Mrs. Glenda Hilts as my Assistant this year.

With a combination of 24 years of
experience in Early Childhood and Special Education my goal is to build a safe community for
each child to develop at his or her best potential. Throughout the course of my academic,
personal, and professional experiences, I have discovered that teaching young children is my
passion and my lifelong inspiration.

I received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix
in 2011 and a Masters of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon
University in 2015. I have a teaching Certification in EC-12, mild to moderate teaching and
instruction.

My Teaching Philosophy
All children are exceptional and must have a fascinating instructional environment where they
can flourish and become all they can be. It is my motivation to design this type of setting where
students can meet their full potential.
Parents I want to assure you that your child is in the best of care. The academic success of your
child depends on us working together as a team. My vision for each child is for them to develop,
grow, and excel beyond our greatest expectations
