England Menard's Class
I am a proud Head Start teacher of 7 years. I graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelors of Science
Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with emphasis in Family and Child Studies and certification in General Education (EC-6). I've been with the Port Arthur district for 9 years; of which 2 years with Communities in Schools. I serve as the Head Start Lead teacher, mentor teacher, Tiny Titan Cheerleader sponsor, and Site-Based Committee member.
I was born and raised in Welsh, LA. Moving to Beaumont with my husband and 3 sons is one of the greatest life changing decisions ever. I enjoy spending time with my family: fishing, camping, and Sunday dinners at home. I love being a wife, mother, grandmother, and educator. Teaching is the most rewarding career, because it builds the foundation for all other careers. I am very passionate about educating our youth, building positive relationships with families, and supporting success and achievements in our communities.
My Teaching Philosophy
Education is the master key to knowledge, freedom, and self-determination. Learning is a life-long experience that creates the basis for who we are as people. As a teacher, I have the power to support, encourage, and guide children in all avenues of life. The role of being a positive influence in a child’s life can only happen if the teacher realizes what it takes to be a role model and what kind of actions are acceptable when around children.
