Head Start Pre-Kindergarten Program
Head Start Pre-Kindergarten Program is under the direction of the Head Start Program. It provides a consistent structure for good developmental experiences. It encourages diversity, as the program reflects the interest, abilities and needs of the children, parents and staff. If provides for learning experiences that promote the growth of the whole child, addressing all areas of a child, addressing all areas of a child's development--cognitive, social, emotional and physical.
Goals:
The overall goal of the Pre-Kindergarten program is to encourage a greater degree of social competence in children four years of age with a full day program of educational, health, nutrition, and social services to meet their needs and enrich their lives.
Eligibility:
-Child must be 4 years of age on or before September 1. -Family must meet income criteria set by Head Start guidelines.
Classroom Arrangements: Classes are full-day
Monday 8:00 am - 3:25 pm Tuesday 8:00 am - 3:25 pm
Wednesday 8:00 am - 2:30 pm
(early release for staff training)
Thursday 8:00 am - 3:25 pm
Friday 8:00 am - 3:25 pm
