The Region 5 Virtual Family Fair is still open!

Jack Hartmann's opening segments were recorded and are at the top of the fair site. The Thanksgiving holiday is next week and your families can enjoy visiting the fair, registering for a swag bag, and incorporating ideas into their holiday time with their children. Teachers, we encourage you to visit the fair as well! Consider logging in and viewing the ESL/BIL segments and don't forget to register for a swag bag yourself. Gov. Abbot and TEA Launch Supplemental Special Education Services

On October 21, 2020, Governor Abbott and TEA announced that they had established the Supplementary Special Education Services program designed to connect eligible students with severe cognitive disabilities to additional supports for the critical services they may require. The program helps connect these families to personalized services through a funded allocation, helping to offset learning disruptions due to COVID-19.

Report Cards/Progress Reports

Effective immediately, the district will no longer print progress reports or report cards for students in first through 12th grades. Elementary campuses will still provide hard copies to parents of Pre-K and kindergarten students.

2020 Football Ticket Sales Information

Due to current guidelines, the Port Arthur Independent School District has updated how fans will purchase tickets for the 2020 football season. These changes are due to the University Interscholastic League COVID-19 policy of limiting stadium capacity to 50%.

Change of Instruction period now open!

Port Arthur ISD has four nine-week grading periods within the 2020-2021 school year. The district will continue to offer virtual and in-person instruction throughout the school year. Parents will have the option to change the method of instruction every nine-week term, if they choose. Once a method of instruction has been selected, it cannot be changed until the next nine-week term. Parents will have from October 5-14th to change the method of instruction for the second nine-week period, beginning on October 19th. Parents will complete one form per child. Port Arthur ISD tiene cuatro períodos de calificaciones de nueve semanas dentro del año escolar 2020-2021. El distrito seguirá ofreciendo instrucción virtual y en persona durante todo el año escolar. Los padres tendrán la opción de cambiar el método de instrucción cada período de nueve semanas, si así lo desean. Una vez que se ha seleccionado un método de instrucción, no se puede cambiar hasta el próximo período de nueve semanas. Los padres tendrán del 5 al 14 de octubre para cambiar el método de instrucción para el segundo período de nueve semanas, comenzando el 19 de octubre. Los padres completarán un formulario por niño.
